Hello,

Cartika Systems Engineering is currently investigating a potential hardware issue on our mail4 server.

We are currently in the process of running a Baremetal Restore of this server to the most recent restore point to standby hardware in order to minimize downtime and customer impact. This thread will be updated as this process proceeds to completion and once full service is restored.

If you have any further questions, please contact support.

[resolved ] Dallas Network Connectivity

Hello,

there has been an issue with network congestion and flooding within our Dallas facility. This has resulted in intermittent and inconsistent network connectivity.

This is causing some connection and performance issues for all customers. Cloud instances will be most noticable because of its reliance on network for storage.

We are investigating and will provide updates once they are available

Cartika Launches Bacula4Hosts in our Canadian Facility

Hello,

Cartika is pleased to formally announce the availability of Bacula4Hosts as a replacement to R1Soft in our Toronto Canada location as our backup and recovery solution. Later on, we will also be replacing R1Soft with Bacula4Hosts in our Dallas, Texas facility.

We have started with our Canadian Shared Cluster and will slowly be migrating all other customers (VPS, Cloud, Dedicated) in our Canadian facility over to the new Bacula4Hosts platform.

How this will impact customers?

Shared Hosting Customers - shared hosting customers on our Canadian servers simply need to login into their hosting control panel select "Bacula4Hosts Restore" > "Bacula4Hosts Restore View" > Bacula4Hosts Restore - click enable. Once enabled, you can now select the service from which you want to restore data (web files, email, mysql, pgsql, mssql) and you can restore any data from any date that we have available in our backup infrastructure NEW*** Windows end users will now have self service restore capability to restore their own web, email, mssql, mysql and pgsql data. R1Soft did not allow for end user restore capabilities on Windows shared hosting environments

Reseller Hosting Customers - for all of your Canadian plans within your reseller control panel, please uncheck R1Soft CDP service and please check (include and activate) Bacula4Hosts service and save your plans. Once done, your end users will see bacula4hosts instead of r1soft. Please do not change your US plans yet until we roll this out to our US facility. We will be posting instructions in the reseller only forum as well shortly here.

VPS/Cloud/Dedicated - If you are running hsphere, any VPS/Cloud/Dedicated server in Canada, you will have end user restore access from your end user control panel of all data. Additionally, with ANY hosting control panel (cpanel, directadmin, websitepanel) or even for those customers without any control panel, you will have access to all servers or instances and be able to restore any file from any of your servers from your billing control panel simply by logging in at https://cp.cartikahosting.com (as per normal) select "Bacula4Hosts Restore" > "Bacula4Hosts Restore View" > Bacula4Hosts Restore - click enable. You can then browse your servers and the data on each server NEW*** Previously, all vps/cloud/dedicated customers who wanted access to their backup data needed to have a custom user account created on R1Soft. Now with Bacula4Hosts, all customers who have vps/cloud/dedicated servers with Cartika with backups will also have access to restore any files on any of their servers from their primary portal

NOTES:

- as a reminder, this is currently only launched and available in our Toronto Canada facility. We will be launching this solution in Dallas in the near future and will be migrating all servers away from R1Soft and over to Bacula4Hosts over the course of the coming months.
- we have not yet started migrating vps/cloud/dedicated server customers in Canada yet to bacula4hosts, but, we will be doing so in the near future. Once migrated, if customers do not see bacula4hosts in their control panel, please contact us and we can ensure its enabled in your plan
- we have a few days data for the Canadian shared servers at this time on the Bacula4Hosts platform. we have still maintained the R1Soft data and can recover older backups manually if absolutely necessary. This legacy R1Soft data will be gone once we have enough restore points available on the new Bacula4Hosts platform.

Thanks and we hope you enjoy the new module and the increased functionality. As always, please let us know if you have any additional questions
