I've been using Fireblast by SumEffect for a couple years to mange email campaigns (send email blasts, manage lists, track results, etc.) but it lacks some key features. For example, you can't send a blast to more than one list at a time and duplicate email addresses have to be removed manually. So I'm looking for a new email marketing program that I only pay for once, not a monthly fee. And the program should be installed on my hosting account (php/mysql). Any suggestions?

Thanks, Gary

Hey Gary,

I finally gave up on installed software, and went with Mailchimp, but before I did that, I tried the following:

PHP List: http://www.phplist.com/
Free, open source, but tricky to setup. Widely used and recommended, so I guess if you can get it properly setup, it works well.

1-2-All: http://www.activecam...mail-marketing/
VERY pretty & easy to use, lots of features, and it's been around a long time. Not cheap, though. And you have to maintain an annual "support contract" to keep downloading new versions... kinda like vBulletin. If money was no object, this would be my choice. It allows you to do all kinds of throttling, and use several SMTP servers to spread the load around. There's a cheaper version if you don't need more than a few lists/admins.

HTH :)
Take care,
Steve
