Hi there
I apologise in advance if you do not want to field a question like this.... But I have trawled the net and cannot find good basic info about which path to take and thought I would ask the people who I know are experts...
But I was wondering what I can do to integrate a football player, fixture, results and tables database to Joomla?
I’d like an effective means of possibly developing and building a massive database with such content which presents info in Joomla.
Are you aware of any products?
Can you suggest a compatible database format that I could integrate to Joomla and run well on your servers (Linux)?
Should I really turn to Microsoft sharepoint?
Thanks, and please feel free to bin this question...
Thanks all
Reg

Hello,
You can search the joomla extensions for sports related modules and components.
A quick search has yielded me the following results:
http://extensions.jo...-a-games/sports
I am not certain any of these modules would specifically meet your requirements, however, you can also hire a developer to customize a module for you. Joomla is an open source product and any developer with PHP and MySQL experience can develop a custom component to plug into Joomla for you.
Hope this helps..

hello reg32,
you will need a custom module if you need to integrate with joomla, extensions to joomla are a bit expensive.
you can build the football application in core php and manage it outside joomla, which will be cheaper.
let me know if you need any quotes, i have developers who develop such kind of applications.
The reason i responded to your post is because i work with lots of sports organization related to such applications.

Try Fabrik. It is an application builder that runs as a component in Joomla.

Their forums are pretty helpful if you get stuck. http://fabrikar.com/forums/
I haven't used it since the J! 1.0 version, but even back then it was powerful enough to do about anything you wanted.
