Hi

We have always been using CPANEL for LINUX Hosting and Hsphere for windows hosting.

Thats how we have been operating for long. The only issue with HSPHERE is the no.of a/cs limitation with each reseller a/c.

Now, we heard the news that CPANEL has come up with a new CONTROL PANEL for WINDOWS HOSTING

Check : http://www.cpanel.ne...s/overview.html

According to the company, Enkompass is a Windows web hosting control panel with the wide-ranging features and intuitive interface of cPanel/WHM. cPanel built Enkompass in native Windows technologies employing a user-based approach for flexibility and ease of use while retaining the extensive features of the company's Linux-compatible control panel. Enkompass was made available in June and operates with Microsoft IIS7 and Windows Server 2008.

Fans of the Linux-compatible version of the control panel will find the Windows version very familiar !

The control panel
for Windows Server®

It's here! We've been working hard to develop the world's only Windows web hosting control panel worthy of carrying the cPanel logo — and now it's arrived.
The simple yet powerful Enkompass interface offers a rich assortment of features that can save your business time and money.

Sounds exciting...

hello, for shared hosting, you should consider giving hsphere a try on the Linux side as well. The clustering, and now the LVE integration as well as our own repo of package updates make this a pretty appealing platform

The number of accounts limitation is often found with hsphere providers because of the way the solution is licensed - you are absolutely correct - having said this, it is also a very nice mechanism of ensuring stability in an environment as it makes it much easier to predict and plan for number of accounts per given resource area of hosting. For us, the number of licenses do not really matter much outside of the stability and planning discussion. You should maybe take a look at our VPS offerings or Cloud offerings where we give a very high number of account licenses per instance - and you can slowly build out a cluster of instances as required.

It is very unlikely that we will be jumping on the cPanel Enkompass solution any time soon. Having said this, we do have an alternate Windows solution available via WSP (websitepanel). We have built out a websitepanel cluster and are already delivering Windows VPS, Clouds and Dedicated servers from that cluster (along with exchange 2010 services). Expect to see this offering make our various websites in the near future. WSP is a nice solution in that, like hsphere, we can plug instances into our established cluster and users can share our DNS services as well as our control panel services. Users can then load up whichever services they desire onto one or more instances - and off you go. WSP supports the latest Windows technologies, supports clustering, allows users to also allocate our exchange resources and even allows customers we set up as resellers on the system to create and resell reseller accounts from within our primary install.

Unfortunately, we have zero plans to deliver shared hosting on any platform other then hsphere. Hsphere handles the Linux and Windows hosting for us, centralizes management and billing, allows customers to allocate resources on multiple platforms, etc.. However, if you are interested in an alternate platform for Windows hosting, and one that does not have an account limit - you may want to consider taking a look at our VPS solutions with WSP.

Hopefully this helps and is useful information for you
