After months of work, we are very pleased to announce our new website today.

Listening to our customers demands of more organized resources as well as our potential customers feedback with respect to organization of our content and offerings, we have completely revamped this new website into easy to use and navigate sections, categories and content items.

Additionally, we are able to reference relavent content items across multiple sections and categories.

We will be countinually growing and adding resources to this site, especially for resellers with more complete guides on the finer points of the reseller control panel (items not covered in typical documentation).

We have also added the beginnings of an open source directory where we will be posting what we feel is the "best of breed" open source applications covering muliple solution points, saving our customers the time required to research various scripts by quickly identifying the scripts we feel are best of breed and safest/easiest to use and configure.

Hopefully this new website addresses the concerns and requirements of most of our users. Please keep in mind that it is a work in progress and ALOT of new content will be added in the coming months.

In the interim, all constructive feedback is encouraged/recommended...

Congratulations on the fantastic new site and for setting the benchmark for the industry. I can't wait to implement the new services. Thanks again for putting us first and helping your resellers to offer the best features available.

Managing your growth, your commitment to underutilizing the network (not overselling) and continued commitment to customer service put you in your own league. I don't need infinite resources or gimmicks, I've got Cartika. Best of success Andrew and Thanks to the dedicated staff for helping myself and my customers never worry about our hosting.

Thank you Wedge -

Information and Documentation coming soon for Resellers !

In a very short time here, we will be posting additional details on some minor plan changes required by resellers so as to differentiate between Linux and FreeBSD Servers as well as Between Windows and Coldfusion Servers (very straight forward and simple changes in your plans which will not affect service in anyway :) )

Also, although not yet announced, you can start to create MS Exchange Plans as of now.

Most of the changes we have made are specifically for our Resellers to take advantage of and provide additional value added services to their client bases.

Happy selling and keep your eyes on the Network News forum over the next few days for MANY announcements specifically for resellers.

Wow, more? I can't wait, and it's not even Christmas. I'm glad to see the network monitor back as I wanted to use it on my site.

One note on the new site. I see a horizontal scrollbar on some pages. I am at 1024X768 screen resoltion, IE 6.0 & firefox 2.0. I like the moo fx navigation. Color scheme is very professional. The separate VOIP site is nice too. It's a great example of what you can do with Joomla.

Sorry to discuss the other announcements in the site design thread but I'm too lazy to separate my posts. There isn't much else I can think to add. Maybe sharepoint if a demand grows. I am hoping someday I can pass my phone support over to your staff as well.

Are the VOIP & PBX services available for Canada only? That is another unique offering I'd like to offer. Have you ever considered offering a consumer targeted virtual pbx?

I'd also like to read more about the specifics of the shared coldfusion environment, the support tags and features.

Thanks again.

Wedge

Thanks Wedge, Can you possibly email me a screen capture of what you are talking about? (andrew[at]cartikahosting.com)

Thanks, We will be working on that voip site next - as for Joomla, we are quite pleased with its capabilities - once you learn the system, there is really ALOT you can accomplish. I think we are just starting to scratch the surface with Joomla - one of my favorite Joomla sites is www.sugarcrm.com - I think they have done an outstanding job -

Not a problem, they are all somewhat related anyway

Maybe sharepoint if a demand grows.

Sharepoint will be available with the next release of H-Sphere and yes, we will certainly be adding that service to our cluster.

I am hoping someday I can pass my phone support over to your staff as well.

Also coming - we have already custom coded our PBX to accept incoming calls from multiple toll free numbers (ie your own) and announce to us which Q (ie which company) it is coming from. However, I would say this portion is still a little ways away.

Are the VOIP & PBX services available for Canada only?

For now, yes. All of our VoIP servers are in Canada. I would expect to be adding some in our US location as well - however, we will need to source DID providers and need to hire an Asterisk tech in Dallas (ours lives in Toronto)

Have you ever considered offering a consumer targeted virtual pbx?

Can you elaborate on this? we do have a virtual pbx offering for small business. I am having a hard time seeing the benefit to the consumer - though, I am probably missing something here :)

I'd also like to read more about the specifics of the shared coldfusion environment, the support tags and features.

Well, this is why we ended up separating off this service. Coldfusion sites often have requirements that are a little unique and contradict some of the things we do on our "typical" windows servers. By separating this service onto its own servers, we are better able to configure the server specifically for Coldfusion users. No reasonable tags will be refused and we have a pretty large default set of them active. Additionally, there are some custom ports open on these servers which we would not typically open on Windows servers, however, they are required for some advanced coldfusion tasks/integration.

Thanks again and hopefully this addresses some of you questions...

I have sent a screenshot from my end. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Regarding a consumer oriented pbx I was referring to the toll free and local providers that offer a phone number and scaleable number of extensions with autoattendant, voice messaging, efax, etc. I am in the process of moving my expensive business line with zero features to a virtual pbx provider. Cartika could lead in this sector if it didn't distract you from your core business. I have no idea if its profitable but I'd like to be a reseller or affiliate with a solid provider. Thinking about this it could be a distraction from your dedicated pbx offerings.

I'll stop posting so you can sleep. I often work late but hate to submit questions or tickets because you answer them right away regardless of their importance. I can wait to find the answer to these questions.

Have a good one,

Wedge

Hi Wedge,

LOL - no need to worry, we are always on guard here :)

I really do not see a sufficient market for this virtual pbx to the consumer market, however, I 100% see value in the Small Business and Home Based Business market. This is exactly who we are offering it to in Canada and would love to also offer this in the US.

I think we are 6 months to a year away of offering this in the US, but, it is coming.

I believe the Virtual PBX and the Dedicated Asterisk Servers go hand in hand.

It would be my ultimate objective to have Asterisk integrated into hsphere and allow resellers the capability to sell VoIP from their control panel.

psoft unfortunately does not seem anxious to take this on, and this is a big job. We already have an automated provisioning/billing system for Asterisk - so, more then likely, once this is available to resellers, it will be a separate package and not integrated into hsphere.

having said this (and boy, I wish I could see his face when he reads this :) ) I am going to have Jeffery investigate what it would take to code this into hsphere. As many of you already know, Jeffery is an hsphere admin God (and I dont use that word lightly) - I would have more faith in his abilities to do this over psoft - only problem is, I think I work him too hard already - and I can imagine the effort that would be needed if he took this on solo - he would certainly need a small team of Java developers to help him - and I am certain he will countinually remind me of that fact :) )

Love the new design, looks great!

I just have one complaint that wreaks major havoc. When you click on links which lead to external pages, i.e. the forums, I get so frustrated that it opens new windows. It can be extremely annoying.

Might just be me but I thought I'd share my thoughts on it.

Hi Jordan,

I understand that may be annoying for some, however, it is done that way by design.

I apologize for the inconvenience...

Do you mean that Joomla has it that way or you guys made it that way on purpose?

It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a javascript link. Since it's javascript I can't click on it with my scroll wheel and open it in a new tab :(

Hello Jordan,

no, it is our design. We do not want different sites (ie the forum or the contact/support portal) to open in the same window. We want these to open new windows.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.
