[completed]Linux Web Server Consolidation (web12) + Upgrades Continues
27 March 2012 - 02:07 PM
Hello,
As stated in post http://cartikaforum....ades-continues/ we will continue moving accounts off of legacy hardware and will be starting on web12.
This will migrate web services only from this legacy server and will not affect database or mail services.
The move process is automated and allows for full DNS resolve with zero downtime by maintaining 2 copies of all sites on both the old and the new server for 24 hours in order to allow for full DNS resolution. Many control panel functions will be frozen for these 24 hours in order to ensure that nothing is changed on one server and not the other until full DNS resolution is complete
Those utilizing 3rd party DNS will be contacted. The move process will be stalled and users will be given the opportunity to update their 3rd party DNS with the new A records. At which point, the move process will continue and there will be a 24 hour window where the site is mirrored on both servers in order to accommodate DNS resolve time.

Hello,
I wanted to let you know we have had two very brief network issues at our Toronto facility a short time ago. We have our staff at the datacenter and we will post an update once we get a RFO from PEER1.
